10 Ways to Become a Better Person

Christian D. Larson wrote the book “The Optimist Creed.”  He talks about the life-changing power of optimism and gratitude.

To help us stay focused on gratitude and being optimistic, Larson asks us to make ten promises to ourselves. I think it will be empowering and productive to focus on one of the promises each week.

The first promise is:  I promise myself to be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind. 

Watch my video and read below for some ideas on how to maintain your peace of mind.

The following are a few ways that have helped me maintain my peace of mind:

  • Meditating – I set aside some time to be quiet each day.
  • Having a morning practice so I start my day with intention.
  • Putting things into perspective – How important is this really? Will this matter in ten years?
  • Reminding myself that this is just what it looks like while it’s all working out.

If you’re on board for having a positive focus this week, then say this to yourself or out loud,  “I promise myself to be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.”
