Is there an impasse in your life?

Is there an impasse in your life? | Cyn Hannah

This is said to be the transcript of an actual radio conversation between a US navy vessel with Canadian authorities off Newfoundland in October, 1995. The radio conversation was released by the Chief of Naval Operations on 10/10/95:

Americans:
Please divert your course 15 degrees to the north to avoid a collision.

Canadians:
Recommended you divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the south to avoid a collision.

Americans:
This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.

Canadians:
NO, I say again, divert YOUR course.

Americans:
THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOU CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH, THAT'S ONE FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTER MEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.

Canadians:
This is a lighthouse. Your call.

This might be just an urban myth, but I still love this story because so often we make a demand that an outside condition change, when in reality, what is seeking to happen is that we change.

Where in your life could you do a 15-degree change or even just a one-degree change?By making a small change, what might you avoid or, alternatively, move towards? If you changed your direction by one-degree, over time you would end up in a whole new place!

What one-degree shift can you make today that will move you in the direction of your dream? I'd love to know in the comments what tiny change you are going to make.

Live your dream,

Cyn
